BPC 157 is one of if not my absolute favourite peptide. I love that you can use it orally for one thing or bang it into action with injections for another. BPC 157 appears to be involved in maintaining of GI mucosa integrity (bye bye leaky gut), with no toxic effect. It was successful in the therapy of GI tract, periodontitis, liver and pancreas lesions, and in the healing of various tissues and wounds. Basically it’s your guts best friend.
Not only is it anti – ulcer, it’s also beneficial to those suffering from IBS or IBD like colitis or crohn’s disease. What fascinates me it ist’s has the ability to repair damaged teeth, bones, muscles, tendons, and even intestines. All depending on how we administer it. It has even been shown to heal damaged organs and influence the brain.
How many of you have abused NSAID’s in your lifetime (think Advil or ibuprofen) – I know I have. Well that damage is intense when we look at our gut and what it does to our system however this little peptide can help repair that. It was basically nicknamed the antidote to NSAID toxicity.
Mice with inflammatory bowel disease healed within days of orally ingesting the peptide. No joke – this is huge for those with Crohn’s and Colitis!
I used it not to long ago due to its ability to heal tendons and bones, it actually gets a better result than some surgical interventions.
BPC 157 appears to have a very positive positive interaction with the Nitric Oxide (NO) system, which now leads me to want to research the tie in with genetics (oh look a rabbit hole!) BPC-157 helps heal wounds by building up the blood vessels and protecting the endothelial tissue, see I told you this stuff is amazing. Speaking of the genetic component- It also promotes gene expression while specifically targeting genes that are responsible for collagen formation, generation of growth factor and cytokine. It can also heal intestinal anastomosis and short bowel syndrome. All of the above mentioned conditions are known to affect sufferers of bowel inflammation, diarrhea, constipation, and gut pain. Yup the benefits have also been seen with those suffering even the most severe and advanced of cases.
There are some interesting studies regarding fast track wound healing done in Russia and Europe which we don’t have access to… we know they tested on humans but haven’t posted their results yet (the Russians know what’s up!)
BPC 157 seems to stimulate the healing of the bones and ligaments by promoting “improved cell survival and cell migration”. This is based on research on mice that were affected by an Achilles tendon rupture. The mice had the peptide administered to them through drinking water. I’ve seen similar results with those who injected the peptide for tennis elbow and carpal tunnel.
Ok now that you are likely sold on this awesome therapy you will likely want to know where you can get it. I want to caution buying off the internet – you’re not getting what you think especially if it’s cheap. Be aware of any website that states “sold only for lab chemical research” that translates to “not safe for human consumption”.
Let’s talk dosage: a single dosage of 1-10 mcg per kg of body weight taken once daily is the best way to go. This brings the most systematic benefit for the body and translates to 200-800 mcg per day depending on the individual’s body weight. Most people who’ve taken it say they derive the most benefit when they take it in dosages of 250-350 mcg twice per day, which translates to 500-700 mcg per day in total. Each person os different, these are guides not medical advice. Want to have a chat about dosage, usage and see if this is something you may benefit from then let’s get you scheduled for a Peptide Therapy Session.
Hi Holly,
I have Ulcerative Colitis and have been in a flare for quite some time….about a year and a half at this point. I used BPC 157 orally for several months at 500mcg/day but did not see much of a difference – though it is hard to tell when you are deep in a flare. I may try it again from a different source, but it sounds like you would recommend this over a peptide like TB-500 for gut inflammation? Thanks for this article, it really helped!!
I’m glad this article helped, it’s a bit of a crap shoot using peptides alone but try combining the two. Oral and injectable bpc157 might be a better option or try Tb + BP as a combo rather than solo. Let me know!
Just heard about bpc 157 am Gona try it for my gastritis. Hope it works thanks for putting this up 👍
Would be interested in hearing about your results when you try it. Keep us posted 🙂
